CinéGlobe Film Festival, Geneva, Switzerland - Organizer and Web Designer - November 2007 to present
Principal organizer of international short film festival based at CERN, the European Lab for High Energy Physics, selection committee member, web and trophy designer; assisted with planning, communication, film submissions and screening.  CinéGlobe attracted more than 1400 films from 80 countries.  The 2009 edition of CinéGlobe will feature special “scientific fiction” and “science documentary” programs.  http://www.cineglobe.ch

Science and Engineering Employment and Experience
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, CA, USA - Mechanical Engineer - 1998-Present
On long-term assignment at CERN, the European Laboratory for Particle Physics, in Geneva, Switzerland, since June, 2005.  Mechanical engineer on the ATLAS physics experiment, the largest multinational science collaboration ever formed.  Eight years of experience in project management, with duties such as: supervision of students, designers and technicians; budgeting; schedule and resource planning; documentation; and communication.  Adept at collaborating and communicating in a distributed work environment with colleagues from many nationalities.  Have twice received Outstanding Performance Awards for work on this project.
BESSY (Berlin Electron Ring for Synchrotron Radiation) - Berlin, Germany - February, 2003
Brought in for expertise in personally developed RF cavity modeling using ANSYS FEA software.  Performed analysis and educated two other engineers on how to perform advanced analysis (magnetic, structural, and thermal) of an electron gun accelerating cavity.
CCLRC Daresbury Laboratory - Daresbury, United Kingdom - December, 2000
After providing advice on RF cavity FEA modeling from LBL for some months, was brought to the laboratory for unpaid collaboration and instruction on the analysis methods developed at LBL.  Instructed three other engineers on the particulars of performing the analysis and conducted troubleshooting of models that they had already built.
CalHPV Human Powered Vehicle Team, Berkeley, CA, USA - Director - 1995-1999
Leader and chief designer for student group building ultra efficient bicycles for competition.  Responsible for all planning, design, construction, sponsorship and budgeting.  Organized HPV competition in San Francisco for 40 universities.  In 2002, team set world tandem speed record at 68 mph, using vehicle I designed.  The record-setting “Bearacuda” will soon be on display at the Bicycle Museum of California.  http://calhpv.berkeley.edu

  2. Video editing: Several years experience with Avid Express Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere, and Pinnacle Edition.  Familiar with many Sony and Canon DV cameras.  Basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Apple Motion.  
  3. Film Production: Experience with Bolex and Krasnogorsk K-3 16mm cameras, exposure determination, basic lighting and grip.
  4. Solid Modeling and Drafting Software: Several years using ME10, Autocad, Solid Designer and Pro/Engineer; Two weeks formal Pro/E training.
  5. Web and Graphic Design: Proficient with HTML and web administration, basic knowledge of javascript, php, mySQL.  Experience with Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and cutepage.  Proficient with Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat Professional.
